Feeding Your Demons –
Bringing Wisdom and Compassion to our Inner Conflicts

Based on Tsultrim Allione’s Book and Renown Practice
Saturday, October 5th.
NOW 9:30  to approx 11 AM

led by Suzanne Colón

This ONLINE workshop will feature a guided exercise that uses imagery and inquiry to work with difficult parts of ourselves or our experience. Developed by Lama Tsultrim Allione (Tibetan nun, author and teacher), this exploratory practice of self-compassion has been shared with practitioners across Buddhist lineages, to powerful effect. In this morning workshop, Suzanne will offer the practice, along with guidance for how to use it safely and beneficially.

This a helpful exercise for anything you’re finding frustrating. Beginners may want to do the practice with a low-stakes issue to see how it’s done before bringing it to higher-stakes issues or conflicts. Following the workshop, we’ll share the link to Lama Tsultrim guiding it online so you may do it again, and as often as you wish. She offers it freely.

This workshop is designed for all levels of meditation experience. All persons, identities, sizes, genders, ages, races and abilities are very welcome.

The Mindful Self-Compassion Course

Wednesday evenings January 15 – March 5
6:00 – 8:30 PM

Taught by our sangha’s Insight meditation teacher Suzanne Colón (and her esteemed co-teacher soon to be revealed…)

The Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) program was developed by Christopher K. Germer, PhD, leader in the integration of mindfulness and psychotherapy, and Kristin Neff, PhD, pioneering researcher in the field of self-compassion. MSC combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion, providing a powerful tool for emotional resilience. The program includes conceptual learning, meditations, and informal self-compassion practices designed to be used in daily life.

A number of randomized-controlled trials have shown that the MSC program greatly enhances mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. It boosts happiness, reduces anxiety and depression, decreases burnout, physical pain, and much more.

In MSC you’ll learn:

  • how to stop being so hard on yourself
  • how to handle difficult emotions with greater ease
  • how to motivate yourself with encouragement rather than criticism
  • how to transform difficult relationships, both old and new
  • theory and research behind mindful self-compassion
  • how to become your own best teacher

The course includes a 4-hour retreat.

Sliding scale fee: $475 – $410 – $350 with some scholarships available.
Class size will be limited to 16 people.

We are currently assessing online vs in-person options. Please stay tuned for details.
