Five-Night Residential Retreat with Tempel Smith

May 21 – 26, 2023
at the BBar Ranch in Tom Miner Basin

Registration will open soon.

Details of Tempel’s retreat topics and costs will be announced then. Scholarships will be available, as per usual.

This retreat is designed to give our local practitioners access to the residential retreat experience. Registration will be limited to area residents until April 1st.

This retreat is appropriate for those exploring the silent retreat experience for the first time. Prior meditation experience is assumed but relative beginners are encouraged to take the leap. Participants will be well supported and have access help at any time.

Accommodations this year will be mostly double rooms to allow for a group of about 25 people. Singles will be in open loft spaces on the second floor of an A-frame cabin. All rooms have shared baths. Meals will be vegetarian and can accommodate gluten-free and diary-free diets.

Tempel Smith teaches Mindfulness, Insight and Metta meditation with an emphasis on Buddhist psychology and mind-body awareness. He spent a year as a monk in Myanmar with Ven. Sayadaw U Pandita and Ven. Pa Auk Sayadaw, and now organizes the Dedicate Practitioner Program (DPP) for Spirit Rock Meditation Center.
